North Fork TV Fest

Couldn’t make it to the North Fork TV Festival in New York on August 19th?

Not to worry. We’ve got your recap right here!

SeriesFest is committed to bringing the best of episodic storytelling to audiences across the nation, which is why we are thrilled to have partnered with the North Fork TV Festival for the inaugural edition of this New York television celebration. The beautiful waterfront provided an idyllic landscape for this end-of-summer extension of SeriesFest programming.

The festival featured a sneak preview of Spike TV's highly anticipated I Am JFK Jr.; talks with leading industry talent and executives including Mircea Monroe (Episodes), Ian Kahn (Sex and the City) and Scott Cohen (The Gilmore Girls); and four award-winning pilots making their East Coast Premieres from SeriesFest: Season Two with the creators in attendance.

Pilots included Irish crime drama Farr, sci-fi extravaganza and SeriesFest Audience Award winner Riftworld Chronicles, and two New York-set festival favorites: The Come-Up and Takers. The post-program conversations were led by our own CEO Randi Kleiner and Programming Associate Etai Benson, and went in-depth about budget, production, artistic choices, and the future of independent television.

In continuing our tradition of furthering the conversation and accessibility of episodic storytelling, we will be participating in IFP Film Week—taking place in Brooklyn, NY,—to host a special discussion with Rose McGowan to discuss our joint initiative, “Featuring Women.” The talk will be held Saturday, September 17 at 4:00pm. Additional details are available here.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates…
