  • After you have completed the online application, you will receive an email confirmation once the pilot and your submission have been processed into our database. Please allow up to two weeks for this process to take place.

PILOT FORMATS

  • All pilots must be submitted via Withoutabox’s Secure Online Screener system. We cannot accept any other digital download or streaming links at this time.

WITHOUTABOX

  • All submissions are required to fill out through Withoutabox.
  • Please be aware that the process of completing your upload on WAB can take up to 24 hours, so don’t wait until the last minute to begin. Although our online application is handled through Withoutabox, digital uploads are handled through your IMDb account. Once you select Secure Online Screener as your preferred submission format on the Withoutabox application, you will be taken to IMDb to begin the upload. Please note, you can upload your file in SD or HD up to 1080p and file sizes up to 10 GB.

Below are the accepted file formats for digital uploads:

• .MP4 files using the H.264 video codec and the AAC audio codec

• .MOV files using the H.264 video codec and the AAC audio codec

• .FLV files using the Sorenson, H.263 or VP6 video codec and the MP3 audio codec

For the best quality within the IMDb video player, it is recommended that you encode your video at 480x360 with a frame rate of 29.97 FPS (NTSC standard). Once your upload is complete, please view the film in its entirety to ensure that everything is in order. After you have finished viewing your uploaded pilot within IMDb, return to your WAB account to attach it to your SeriesFest application. We will not have access to your pilot until this step is complete-- simply uploading the film to IMDb is not enough! Please be aware that uploading your film does not give us access to do anything other than view it-- we cannot download, copy, or share films that have been uploaded via WAB for our consideration.

To keep our process as simple as possible, we can only accept digital film uploads via the Secure Online Screener system available to you within your WAB account. At this time, we cannot accept a link to your film on Vimeo, YouTube or any other video streaming or download site.

If you submitted your film via Withoutabox’s Secure Online Screener system, you do not need to send us any physical materials. Please do not send us a DVD or Blu-ray disc if you have already uploaded your film.

 AGE

  • We encourage content creators of all ages to submit their work.  All submitted pilots will compete against each other. If you are under the age of 18 and your pilot is accepted, we will require signed, written permission from your parent or legal guardian before we are able to screen your pilot.

NUMBER OF PILOTS ELIGIBLE

  • You may submit as many pilots as you'd like, but you only need to create one account. Upon doing so, you will fill out individual applications for multiple pilots. We do not offer reduced rates in fees for multiple submissions.

 WORK-IN-PROGRESS

  • Unfinished versions of the pilot with incomplete or temporary sound, no credits or titles, unfinished effects, etc. can be submitted. However, it does need to be complete enough for us to be able to make a decision. Whenever possible, you should provide an on-screen description of missing elements as placeholders within the continuity of the pilot. Temp tracks, scratch music, and temp scores are perfectly fine for your submission, but please include a list of missing or temporary elements directly on-screen before the pilot begins. If your pilot is selected, you must send us a complete, final exhibition copy before we screen it at the festival, as we do no exhibit works in progress at the festival.
