Q&A with Dan Goggin
When funding for their school’s music and arts program gets cut, Mother Mary Regina, a former circus performer, and her eclectic group of nuns enter Hoboken Has Talent—a local variety show competition—with their sights set on winning the $100,000 prize. After previously staging a fundraiser show to help bury fifty-two Sisters accidentally poisoned by their cook, the Sisters now consider themselves expert entertainers. As Reverend Mother starts planning for the show with the help of second-in-command Sister Mary Hubert, the streetwise former gang member Sister Robert Anne, and the country singing Sister Mary Paul, lovably known around the convent as Sister Mary Amnesia (ever since a crucifix fell on her head), they soon discover the competition is more amongst themselves. Can they survive a very conservative Monsignor, the competitors at the elitist Barbara Bush Academy, and cook Sister Julia, Child of God’s next meal? Find out in this sinfully funny new series from the creator of the Nunsense musicals.
