INDEPENDENT PILOT COMPETITION Provides a platform for the most innovative drama, comedy, unscripted and animated pilots out there ranging from 18 to 60 minutes.
LATE NIGHT COMPETITION Live action or animated programs with a total run time of 4-15 minutes featuring the strange, absurd, comedic, sketch, or “what the hell?” that can run as a mini series or extended seasons.
PILOTS IN PROGRESS An opportunity for creators to virtually and securely screen a rough cut of their pilot for constructive feedback from fellow creators and industry to help fine tune and finalize their project.
SMARTPHONE SERIES & SHORT FILM COMPETITION SeriesFest is looking for creators who are using their smartphones to tell innovative episodic and short form series no longer than 5 minutes. All entries in this category MUST BE shot entirely on a mobile device or tablet.
LEVEL FORWARD IMPACT AWARD Given to the pilot and team that demonstrate a thoughtful, thorough and deliberate approach to using storytelling as a means of leveling the playing field for underrepresented people including women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA and alternatively abled voices.
PITCH-A-THON! Independent content creators will have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive live pitch session with top television, new media and digital execs in hopes of moving their projects - and careers - forward.
COLLEGIATE CREATORS SPOTLIGHT Collegiate and university students nationwide compete to have their produced pilots (18-60 minute drama, comedy, unscripted and animated) showcased at SeriesFest: Season 7.
STORYTELLERS INITIATIVE SeriesFest has partnered with Propagate Content to discover fresh new television writers. Founded by Ben Silverman and Howard Owens, Propagate Content is the company behind some of the leading TV series including CW's Charmed and Hulu's Hilary.
EXECUTIVE ELEVATION MENTORSHIP Fellows will be paired with top TV, new media and digital executives of color in hopes of moving their projects and careers forward. SeriesFest will curate a dedicated group of mentors and mentees to spark change in the landscape of the TV/film/media industry at the leadership level.
PITCH-A-THON! ROADSHOW Presented in partnership with Oklahoma Film + Music, the Pitch-a-Thon! Roadshow gives independent content creators the opportunity to participate in an exclusive live pitch session with top television, new media and digital execs.
COLLEGIATE FELLOWS Presented by Xfinity, SeriesFest invites undergraduate students from across the country to apply to attend the festival as a Collegiate Fellow.
VIRTUAL LEARNING LAB SeriesFest brings virtual education directly to students, wherever they are. Students are engaged in thought-provoking and meaningful ways through access to content, strategies for self-expression and opportunities to connect with other students through storytelling.
