Be Vizzible: A Pride Series
I want to highlight a special series we created in partnership with The Center on Colfax and Vizzy Hard Seltzer (a Molson Coors product) celebrating six remarkable Coloradans who have made noteworthy social impacts on the LGBTQ+ community through artistic, philanthropic, and political contributions. Plus this series was directed by SeriesFest Alumnus and local Denverite Marin Lapore!

It’s A Sin (HBO Max)
This limited series is incredibly impactful, important, and will make you cry. Like, ugly cry. It’s A Sin is a powerful reminder of how the AIDs crisis affects global history.

INITIATIVES PRODUCER
Killing Eve (AMC)
Despite its outward appearance as a spy thriller full of murder and gore, it’s a complicated love story at its core with layered comedy, honesty, and heart.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Genera+ion (HBO Max)
Call me a sucker for teen dramas, particularly those canceled before they reached their full potential (Freaks and Geeks, My So Called Life), but Genera+ion plucked my cords. My interest started with the father-daughter collaboration between Daniel and Zelda Barnz but was driven home by the sincerity of the character journeys. The exploration of sexuality, particularly the modern-day high school experience, and the realities of acceptance as seen through such a diverse group of characters, while always changing, feels like exhilarating progress.

Rachel Malia Newkirk
MARKETING COORDINATOR
Bojack Horseman (Netflix)
The darkest and most pungent show I’ve seen, Todd offers moments of relief that help keeps us all on board. The twists and turns he takes to accept himself are honest and gentle, and not depicted nearly often enough.
Neil Truglio
DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
Schitt’s Creek (Netflix)
Schitt’s Creek (Netflix) handles LGBTQ+ characters and storylines with a mastery that is missing from most sitcoms and dramas. The audience is simply observing life, not LGBTQ life, because they are one and the same.

VP OF PARTNERSHIPS
Hacks (HBO Max)
I love Hacks full stop. From the LGBTQ+ perspective, it’s one of the still-rare gems that constructs characters where sexuality is an attribute and not the full conversation. It goes for almost the whole ensemble: they’re not struggling with their sexuality. They’re just struggling with everything else.
