Since graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2011, Sion Daniel Young has carved an impressive body of work within Theatre, Film and Television. Born in Cardiff, Sion began acting at a young age, performing in the National Youth Theatre and Sherman Youth Theatre.
Coming up this year Sion stars in the leading role Gabriel opposite Fra Fee in the exciting new three-part BBC drama LOST BOYS AND FAIRIES, for Duck Soup films. Written and created by Welsh writer Daf James and directed by James Kent, the tender and glittering story follows singer and artisteextraordinaire Gabriel, his partner Andy. The series is a moving and groundbreaking drama set in Cardiff exploring the universal theme of parent and children through the perspective of gay adoption.
Last year, Sion could be seen in the highly anticipated third series of SLOW HORSES for Apple TV+. Directed by Saul Metzstein, the series follows a team of disgruntled British Intelligence agents working in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career- ending mistakes. Starring Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott-Thomas. The show has received rave reviews, with the third series described as ‘Better than ever’ by Rolling Stone.
Further television credits include the BBC Wales smash-hit drama KEEPING FAITH S3; LIFE AND DEATH IN THE WAREHOUSE and Bruce Goodison’s OUR WORLD WAR, both for BBC Three, as well as the Welsh detective series HINTERLAND.
