Inclusivity Initiative: From Start to Screen

Paige Miltenberger · August 29, 2024 ·

As a celebration of our commitment to diversity and equity, SeriesFest has partnered with the Royal Bank of Canada to launch opportunities to make our festival more accessible to all content creators.

Beginning with the submissions process, SeriesFest has instated a number of evaluation tools to identify projects that exhibit a commitment to engaging underserved communities.

Thanks to our partnership with RBC, your project may be eligible for waived submission fees. Eligible categories include: Independent Pilot—Comedy, Independent Pilot—Comedy, Digital Short Series, Unscripted, and Late Night competitions. Complete the form below.

Projects may also be eligible for:

  • The Level Forward Impact Award
  • The Caz Matthews Fund
  • The Intersectionality Fund
  • The Inclusive Creator Fund presented by the Anna & John J. Sie and the Global Down Syndrome Foundations

Please complete the form below to help us determine your eligibility for a submission fee waiver. Your submission will be evaluated based on your thoughtful and thorough answers. Each submission will be evaluated individually.

We are no longer accepting RBC waivers for SeriesFest: Season 11.

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is a longstanding supporter of the arts and film around the globe. Through its RBC Emerging Artists Project, RBC has supported over 24,000 alumni since 2015. To date, more than $90 million has been donated through the RBC Foundation to benefit thousands of arts organizations around the world.

“Through the RBC Emerging Artists Project, we strive to support organizations that will provide the best opportunities for artists to accelerate their career trajectory,” said Mark Beckles, Vice-President, Social Impact and Innovation, RBC. “Our partnership with SeriesFest will help to provide the much-needed opportunities that underrepresented artists require to take their next step — as we believe all artists deserve equal and equitable opportunity to meet their full potential. We look forward to watching their careers unfold in the years ahead and hearing the stories informed by their diverse perspectives.”
