SeriesFest, the esteemed international festival and non-profit organization dedicated to championing emerging and underrepresented voices in episodic storytelling, today announced the 45 titles from all over the world participating in the International Independent Pilot Competition at SeriesFest: Season 10.

SeriesFest, the non-profit organization dedicated to advancing and celebrating innovation in episodic storytelling, proudly announces a new partnership with actor and producer Ed Helms and Pacific Electric Picture Co. This collaboration highlights the Storytellers Initiative, a premier competition designed to uncover and elevate emerging voices in comedy. Previous successful partnerships include Janelle Monae’s Wondaland, Ben Silverman’s Propagate, and Kyra Sedgwick’s Big Swing Productions.

SeriesFest Season 9 unveiled its list of winners in the independent pilot competition at a ceremony in Denver on Wed, May 10. Jurors screened 55 pilots from creative voices around the globe at this year’s iteration of the television festival.

In partnership with Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland, SeriesFest has awarded its 2022 Women Directing Mentorship to Gia-Rayne B. Harris.

The program first launched in 2018 and pairs rising female directors with established episodic directors on Shondaland-produced series.

In the fourth year of the partnership, Shondaland’s commitment to expanding industry opportunities gains new ground.

The Pitch-A-Thon initiative, powered by Denver/West Coast-based SeriesFest, Second City, and IFA Chicago is dedicated to discovering and nurturing the most promising independent episodic creators. The winner of the inaugural Chicago Pitch-A-Thon has been announced.

EXCLUSIVE: Janelle Monáe and her Wondaland Pictures have partnered with the non-profit SeriesFest on the ninth season of Storytellers, its Script Writing Competition spotlighting female-focused stories within the episodic arena.

SeriesFest and National Geographic Documentary Films have selected A.K. Sandhu‘s docuseries We Beg Your Pardon, America as the winner of the “Spotlight Your Town” initiative which supports an inclusive group of unscripted storytellers creating authentic, community-driven stories that embody the breadth and diversity of the people and places they represent.
