Minnie Driver

Note: Minnie Driver will no longer be in attendance.

Minnie Driver first came to the attention of audiences and critics alike in 1995 for her critically acclaimed performance in Circle of Friends, in which she starred with Chris O’Donnell. She went on to earn Oscar and Screen Actors Guild nominations, both in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for the award-winning feature, Good Will Hunting, directed by Gus Van Sant. In 1998 she was honored with ShoWest’s prestigious Female Star of Tomorrow for her work. Driver can currently be seen in Uproar, an official TIFF selection directed by Paul Middleditch and Hamish Bennett. The heartwarming film in which 17-year-old Josh Waaka, Driver’s son, is forced to make a change and stand up for himself like he never has before.

Driver hosts her iHeart podcast “Minnie Questions with Minnie Driver,” currently in its third season. She has had esteemed guests such as Chelsea Clinton, Jeremy O. Harris, Alan Cumming, Ronan Farrow, Dave Grohl, Viola Davis, Brooke Shields, Graham Norton, Constance Wu, Colman Domingo, Justin Long, Hoda Kotb, Cindy Crawford, and Anna Faris, to name a few.

Minnie will next be seen on the small screen starring as Elizabeth I in season 2 of “The Serpent Queen” on Starz in which she will be joined by Angus Imrie, Emma McDonald, Isobel Jesper Jones, Bill Milner, and many more. The show will return in the summer.

In 2022, Driver appeared in, Chevalier, based on the life of the titular French-Caribbean musician Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the film is directed by Stephen Williams and also stars Samara Weaving and Kelvin Harrison Jr. The same year, Driver could be seen in Rosaline, a comedic retelling of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet told from the point of view of Romeo’s ex, Rosaline. Before this, Driver starred in the second season of the critically acclaimed series “Modern Love” based on the New York Times column of the same name. Shortly thereafter, she was seen starring in the musical Cinderella written and directed
by Kay Cannon and based on the fairy tale of the same name.

Previously, Driver wowed in three seasons of the hit comedy, “Speechless.” The series followed a family with a special-needs child and the challenges they face together. Amongst her other notable television credits, Driver appeared as the unforgettable, Dahlia Molloy on the critically acclaimed television series, “The Riches.” An audience favorite, Driver received an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination for her role. She also made several guest appearances on “Will & Grace,” as Lorraine Finster, a critic and fan darling.

Minnie released her memoir, Managing Expectations: A Memoir in Essays in May 2022. The memoir discusses Minnie’s life in which she explores navigating the depths of failure, fighting for success, discovering the unmatched wonder and challenge of motherhood, and wading through immeasurable grief. An activist and philanthropist for causes that involve environmental preservation and animal well-being, Minnie divides her time between LA and London.

Betsy Beers

Betsy Beers is a groundbreaking producer and the longtime producing partner of Shonda Rhimes. Under the Shondaland banner, they have developed and produced some of the most industry-leading series in television. Through Shondaland’s unprecedented exclusive deal with Netflix, Beers serves as executive producer on “Bridgerton,” one of the most watched series debut in Netflix history, “Dance Dreams: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker” following legendary choreographer Debbie Allen, “Inventing Anna” inspired by the story of Anna Delvey and most recently, “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” which debuted at No.1 on Netflix’s English TV List and in the Top 10 in 91 countries. Next, Beers will serve as executive producer on the
documentary “Black Barbie” and the comedic murder mystery “The Residence” for the streamer. 

In addition, she is executive producer of the award-winning series “Grey’s Anatomy” and, along with Rhimes, developed and produced the hit series “Private Practice,” “Scandal,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” “For the People,” and “Station 19” for Shondaland and ABC.
