High School Day

Support High School Day at SeriesFest: Season 11!

Director and Comedian Adam Ray

WHAT IS HIGH SCHOOL DAY?

At our annual festival, SeriesFest hosts High School Day, a special screening reserved for Denver local high school students. This year’s festival takes place at the Sie FilmCenter from April 29–May 4, 2025. Students from all over Denver experience a 90-minute event where they get access to new content and a unique Q&A with a creator, giving them direct interaction with an individual in the television industry!

This past year, we had a full house as students joined us for a screening of Director and Comedian Adam Ray’s (Barbie, The Heat) new unscripted series The Doug Heir Story, followed by an extended Q&A.

OUR MISSION IN EDUCATION

SeriesFest’s Education programs work to break down barriers that limit access for students in our community to filmmaking education and media literacy. SeriesFest works to provide those in underserved and underrepresented populations with opportunities and exposure to valuable skills that can inform their futures and potential careers.

“Having the opportunity to experience the work brought forth by so many new and innovative voices rising in the industry really inspired me to continue my journey towards a filmmaking career. I was able to access the wisdom of so many key players in television that I would not have the chance to communicate with otherwise. SeriesFest was the fuel I needed to tap into my creative writing flow!”

—Eric Hill, 2024 Collegiate Fellow, Community College of Aurora

“SeriesFest has been such an influential experience as an emerging writer, being surrounded by so many other creatives has gotten me so excited about developing my own work in this industry.”

—Ariana Padilla, 2024 Student Collegiate Fellow

SeriesFest is proud to partner with the Television Academy Foundation to showcase the annual College Television Award Winners. Partnerships are essential to SeriesFest being able to provide students with these unique and pivotal experiences.

TV ACADEMY FOUNDATION

The Television Academy Foundation is bridging the gap between the classroom and the entertainment industry by providing direct access to the industry, nurturing careers, and offering professional development to support artists, artisans, and executives.

Last year, we were proud to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of preserving television history through The Interviews, which offer students, scholars, journalists, and fans the opportunity to learn from the leaders in our medium from yesterday and today.

Our programs are changing the entertainment industry for the better and enabling us to create a pipeline for our future while seeding the stories that will connect, entertain, inform, and inspire.
