Young Storytellers

Script To Stage

SeriesFest delivers the Young Storytellers Script To Stage program to elementary schools in Denver. This is a free program for Denver-area elementary schools focused on encouraging the unique and individual voices of 5th-grade students, Young Storytellers engages students through the art of storytelling using timeless techniques of mentoring, collaboration, and performance. We provide public school students with an opportunity to write stories and see them brought to life.

The program is open to Title 1 elementary schools in the Denver metro area.

GET INVOLVED

Be a hero by volunteering! The Young Storytellers program offers many opportunities to volunteer including:

Script to Stage Mentorships:

  • The Script to Stage program meets for an hour once a week for eight weeks. Led by a volunteer Head Mentor, each session is a mixture of creative gameplay and one-on-one writing time.

Acting Opportunities:

  • Big Shows are a one-time, 3-hour commitment involving the performance of scripts written by the student participants.

What really matters is that you are interested in helping guide young storytellers. Please contact us and we will find a schedule and role that highlights your skills. Welcome to the wonderful world of Young Storytellers!

VOLUNTEER AS A WORKPLACE OR GROUP

Volunteering with Young Storytellers as an office, college club, or group is fun and easy! Groups of 10 or more can apply! We will provide a Head Mentor, work with you to ready your volunteers, and connect your team with a school in the community.

Sponsored by Young Storytellers

Young Storytellers sparks creative self-discovery through storytelling. Our programs highlight young people as the center of their own narratives, emphasize that their stories matter, and celebrate their unique voices as the ones telling them.

In elementary school, we use storytelling to help young people explore their creativity and imagination. In middle school, we use storytelling to explore their goals for the future and what challenges might stand in their way. In high school, we use storytelling to explore the impact their voice can have in their community – and, more broadly, the world.
