Programs designed to help students evolve into storytellers

SeriesFest is proud to partner with the Denver Film Society to host year-round workshops for students ages 12-18. Students will learn the fundamentals of television and digital content, giving them the confidence and skills to grow as storytellers.


Upcoming Workshop: Learn How to Write a TV Pilot

When: Saturdays in February from 10am-1pm

Where: The Sie FilmCenter

Cost: $450

Step inside the writers’ room with acclaimed writer Sibyl Gardner, whose writing credits for TV include Nashville, Law & Order, Saving Grace and more. This four-part workshop will teach aspiring writers the fundamentals of creating a television pilot. Learn to write for television by creating and workshopping your own TV pilot. One or more of the created scripts will be produced by the YFW students in the summer and will premiere with a red carpet presentation during SeriesFest in June. Apply now, this class is limited to just 10 students!

  • Some lecturing (not boring!) 
  • Lots of Q&A
  • Script reading/role playing from produced pilots/movies
  • Scene writing exercises
  • Dialogue exercises
  • Story boarding
