INDEPENDENT PILOT COMPETITION

Sponsored by Company 3

A Black woman with her hair back in a bun and gold hoops on looks off into the right of the camera. The camera is looking up, she is wearing a pink jacket, and the background is blue-gray.

DIGITAL SHORT SERIES COMPETITION

Some of the most innovative storytelling now resides in the digital space. SeriesFest is looking to honor exciting new digital dramas, comedies, and unscripted series with episodes under 15 minutes.

LATE NIGHT COMPETITION

Live action or animated programs with a total run time of 4-15 minutes featuring the strange, absurd, comedic, sketch, or “what the hell?” that can run as a miniseries or extended seasons.

PITCH-A-THON!

Sponsored by Dilettante Productions and Working Artist Group With Support from Royal Bank of Canada Emerging Artists

Independent content creators will have the opportunity to participate in virtual workshops with industry mentors to prepare for pitching in a live pitch session with top television, new media, and digital execs in hopes of moving their projects — and careers — forward. Pitched projects must be strictly in the script phase (unproduced).

A white man with some facial hair and short brown hair is speaking with passion to an audience. He is holding a mic and standing in front of a screen projecting a purple background, holding a microphone, and wearing an orange velvet blazer and tan t-shirt.

COLLEGIATE SPOTLIGHT

Sponsored by Once Upon a Time Productions

Collegiate and university students nationwide compete to have their produced pilots (18-60 minute drama, comedy, unscripted, and animated) showcased at SeriesFest: Season 9.

PILOTS IN PROGRESS

Sponsored by Company 3 and Seed&Spark

Winner will be awarded $25,000 of in-kind post-production services from Company 3 to be applied to their episodic project.

A thin brown woman with curly dark brown hair is standing right of center in the image. She is pointing to her head with one hand, and in the other holding a microphone. She is wearing a bejeweled top with black spaghetti straps, looking like she is performing. She is standing in front of a blue wall and a window, with black curtains open.
